Elementary and Secondary Education 

I was a bit of a problem for my family.  I was dismissed from nursery school for disturbing the repose of other children, and fired by a piano teacher for being a dunce.  I attended Bradfield School and was required to write A True Confession.    My year at Highland Park Junior High ended with the principal calling my mother to tell her I was a nuisance to him.  O! Miss Larsen! After three years at Texas Country Day, I was allowed to go to Phillips Exeter Academy.  That was a great experience, a demanding school and a place where I made many lifetime friends, but it did not end well.  My Devon: Memoir of a Nerd.   I ended my preparation at the Thomas Jefferson School in Saint Louis.
